From October 2 to 19, 2023, the SKMA Library and Information Center conducted library-bibliographic sessions for first-year students in the programs of General Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Pharmaceutical Production Technology, Pediatrics, and Public Health. The topic of the sessions was “Fundamentals of Information Culture.” The purpose of these sessions was to teach students how to navigate large volumes of information confidently and enhance their information literacy skills, enabling them to engage in remote learning. During the sessions, each student was individually registered in SKMA’s full-text databases (such as RMEB, Epigraph, Aknurpress Central Library, Multimedia Textbooks, KazNU Electronic Library, SKMA Electronic Library, and Student’s Electronic Shelf) for future use of electronic resources in their academic work.
