On November 8, 2024, the Library and Information Center and the Department of Kazakh, Russian, and Latin Languages of South Kazakhstan Medical Academy organized a literary evening titled “Read Abai, Be Amazed!” to promote the works of Abai Kunanbayuly.
In her opening remarks, Acting Associate Professor of Kazakh, Russian, and Latin Languages, G. K. Temirbekova, provided an overview of Abai Kunanbayuly’s works, recited excerpts from his poems, and wished the participants success.
The librarian of the Library and Information Center, F. K. Elemes, arranged an exhibition titled “The Spiritual World of Abai” and encouraged participants to read the books.
To foster students’ love for Kazakh poetry, instill Abai Kunanbayuly’s teachings on art and education, and cultivate patriotism, first-year students passionately recited the poet’s verses from memory.
- K. Chapai, a representative of the Youth Policy Department, urged students to read the poet’s works attentively, emphasizing that understanding his teachings is essential for modernizing national consciousness and building a competitive nation.
Active participants of the evening were awarded certificates of appreciation by the library, presented by the Head of the Service Sector, Zh. K. Balymova.
